As a really crappy band once wrote, "Its been a while"
Well, its been a while since i posted, BUT i changed my homepage back to the voginators so that ill have a constant reminder to post, instead of a constant reminder to search the entire internet in .36 seconds....(google) Anyways I recently started working at the office depot, and so far its been pretty cool, but i am required to wear a pair of black pants, which i dont have. SO, since i was off today, i decided to go on a safari to the little rock malls. It was during this trip that i realized a few things:
1. Either I'm unusually small, or America is FAT; I didnt find one pair of slacks that was waist size 30 or 31, which makes me wonder...
2. Malls are a whole lot cooler when your age 5 to 17. When I was younger the mall was the coolest place ever... (so was wild river country but thats a whole nother story), but when I was there today, i realized that the mall is nasty.
3. Mall security consists of people who got beat up in high school and have it out to finally be able to tell people what to do. I was very suprised not to see David Patterson there with a plastic badge on. But i think every other "officer" there was of equal caliber to David.
4. Bernie Mac works at the Dilliards at the Park Plaza mall, and he has no taste in pants. I swear it was Mr. 3000, his name tag said other wise, but thats probably because he wants to keep things underwraps.
5. University Mall is comprable to a Save-a-Lot. Why you ask did i got to University? Was i trying to catch a good case of Hepititis? Was i trying to get pregnant? No... I was looking for black pants. The stores that I looked in included "GQ", "Mens Fashion", and "Stitches"... each of these stores had a lot to offer... including black slacks, and by that, i mean slacks for black people... AND by that i mean, they were purple. Although I wasnt very keen on the yellow or purple suits, i WAS able to get a good cane for my office depot outfit... I think i may be the first office depot pimp. haha
6. Escalators never get old. I dont care who you are, or how often you ride them, escaltors are always cool. And the cliche` stuff you do on them is always as funny as the first time you did it.
I think thats about all i learned, but another funny thing happend tho... my roommate and i were in the banana republic looking at a pair of 150 dollar pants and i said to him, "I should buy these, just so i can say i own something from the banana republic" to which he didnt respond. About 3 minutes later, and walked over and farted on me... and said "Now you can at least say you've been farted on in the banana republic"
close enuff i guess
It's about time...
I watched the weather go from 500 overcast to severe clear in less than one hour today. Nothing beats canceling a flight and calling your student ten minutes later telling them to ignore your previous conversation and get their butt out here. Horrendous crosswinds be damned, we're going flying. A veritable stampede of students, instructors, maintenance personnel, and what-have-you descended on the tiny ramp. Undoubtedly sore from a three week weather-induced sabbatical, we immediately set out to put some numbers in the books and some money on our paychecks in an all out effort to salvage the dignity that we lost to many-a-fortnight of low ceilings and visibility.
I have other papers to write, so I should really stop posting about nonsensical things like this. Here's the short version:
I got to fly again today. I like my avatar... can't wait to see what you concoct "cartoonish."
seashell's temporary avatar
I'm still going to make jeff c and chelsea a new cartoony one, but if you need it now, there it is. sorry if you look like a 45 year old lady. It kinda did that when i sized it down.
I'm also in progress on matt's.

Workin' on it...
I'm still in the process of making everyone else's avatars. I didn't realize that they'd be such a big hit. I'm not even sure if this will post due to Blogger's recent annoying-ness. But for the time being, I have a not so cartoony Jeff C avatar until i have time to sketch one up and scan it across the hall and photoshop it up (for that is what is required of a cartoony avatar).
Nefarious Plot Uncovered...
Lava Lamps, they seem simple, harmless, and generally hip to youngsters these days, but they hide a dark secret beneath their groovy colors and hippy mentality.
EXPLOSIONS
That's right, apparently Lava Lamps will explode if you place them on a stove. Not only will they explode, but they will more than likely kill you in an accident so freak that it could only have come from Final Destination 4 or Lazer Blazers II: The Search for Netbios.
At first, I chuckled upon seeing this story. Granted, I felt sorry for the victim, because that's just a sad way to go no matter which way you slice it, but then I remembered an old post our own eRIc brought to light some months ago. I was immediately frightened. With the exposure of the inherent evil of lava lamps, why would someone want to construct a 60 foot statue of death and destruction?

Where's my avatar?
Train savvy
Well, I have been in my new house for about 2 and a half weeks now. I only moved a couple streets over, but it has made a huge difference in my life. An average of 60 trains come through Hope a night. That is about one every 8 to 10 minutes. Let's pretend that it is every 15 minutes. That is 4 an hour. It might not seem like a lot, but to your subconcious trying to enjoy REM sleep, it is everything. I feel a little guilty with knowing that I essentially tortured my subconcious for a year and a half. Most can atest to the fact that I was sick, down, and tired more then I should have been. I think that I got really sick about 3 times over the course of living near the train. I can still hear the train occasionally at my new place, but it is a much kinder train. I actually can enjoy the train. In fact I have decided to become train savvy. I am not sure i know what this means, but I actually feel a kinship with that train. It is like moving out of the house and feeling closer to one's parents. It is just nice to be able to sleep.

Professional Convogination
I'm really quite dissapointed with the lot of you. It seems that Jeff C. and I are the only ones holding this whole thing together at the moment, as is the case very often. And don't even try to tell me you all don't have time to enlighten us, because I know all about that sort of thing. However, I have not forgotten my roots. It is the simple act of convoginating that has gotten me where I am today...which at the moment is in a tall brick building, but that's beside the point. Let us not forget our purpose in life...
The Convoginators Thanksgiving Extravagnza was a huge success, aside from the fact that not quite everyone was in attendance. We didn't even get thrown out. Jeff C. and eRIc must have been on their very best behaviour, otherwise things would've gotten ugly and no convoginating would have commenced. I must say that even though my meal only cost two fifty, I ate a great deal. You've got your traditional chip 'n' salsa of course, but then there was the queso paid for by our own convogi-store. Water is still free, thank goodness, and all I needed was beans and a taco so as not to look like a mooch. This of course just led right into Thanksgiving itself and a nice meal provided by the family of one of our very own. One can only imagine the wackiness that took place with two pilots, some old folks, a strange cat, and that purple "salad" made with Coca-Cola.
Friday was the annual Seashell's Family Tree Raisin', which came much earlier this year due to my "relocation." Our selection for Christmas 2004 is not quite as fat as last year's (fat joke!), but it looks quite nice, what with the odd assortment of ornaments. It hold everything from a small version of a young Seashell in a marching band uniform to something that looks like it should appear in some British home come tea-time. Speaking of tea...I'd say it's about time for wassil. Maybe we should have some wassil at the Christmas turkey roast or what have you. I've got a good recipe for some variation of apple cider, but that will come later.
I've convoginated more than my fair share this weekend due to a little Swiss Miss and coffee, and I think I will engage in some more convoginating whilst I work...

Happy Convogi-Giving...
Wow, everyone seems to have been quite busy with the holidays. yeah, I know, I'm one to talk. Seems Seashell has been really the only one keeping this thing up lately. Let's all have a big round of applause for her and her new perm.
Manteca needs to hurry up and post the picture of the first annual Convogi-Thanksgiving extravaganza. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of food. It was good to see the whole gang again, and Phynerk deserves a big hurrumph for thinking to bring convogination ingredients. Truly we are getting back to our roots.
I certainly hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving, and hope that the Manteca's had a good drive up to Memphrica. Well, I'm going out for Panda...

There's Too Many Pigs in the Same Trough
There's nothing like a real bed, a real bath, and food that doesn't taste like the dirty pan it was cooked in. I rolled into town yesterday in plenty of time to enjoy sitting on the couch and doing nothing, but not before scheduling my classes for next semester. I am now minoring in music with an undecided major. It was a very hard thing to do, but I believe it had to be done. Now I can focus more on my convoginating. Bring on the chocolate...
Speaking of convoginating, I have a great recipe you all should try.
1/4 cup of water
1/2 cup of half and half
1 packet of Swiss Miss Hot Coccoa Mix
1 tbsp. instant coffee grains
Mix and microwave for 1 minute. Garnish with Redi-whip and ground cinnamon. Yummy!
I'm becoming a bit worried about Thanksgiving. Every year since I can remember my family has gone to my grandmother's house for Thanksgiving, but she hasn't said anything about it yet, which means it might not be happening this year, which means I won't get to see my family until Christmas, unless we don't have Christmas either, in which case I'll probably never see them again except for maybe when one of my cousins gets married or someone dies. Maybe I'll just go to a soup kitchen for Thanksgiving.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at the Convoginators Thanksgiving Extravaganza. Someone has to make sure I don't eat too much so that I can actually eat tomorrow. Someone also has to make sure Manteca doesn't eat too much or there won't be enough food for the rest of us. I think it's going to be very interesting to have all the Convoginators in one place. Hopefully they won't have to kick us out too early. That means eRIc and Jeff C. better behave.
See everyone tonight!

I KNOW you ain't talkin' to me!
It has been a while since I have posted. The current state of the NBA has brought me out of the depths of posting depression. You guys know I am a HUGE sports nut!
The Detroit Crack Dealers and the Indiana Gangster Rappers, two great all-American NBA teams. Teams with upstanding young men that make all of us proud that our youth look up to them. I will say that the testosterone-induced melee that ensued ON television the other night was a little ridiculous. Especially after the rest of the country freaks out over a simple commercial before Monday Night Football on ABC.
We wonder why the Romans placed their athletic specimens in the same arena with the animals. I think maybe because the Romans had it correct. They are just animals. What transpired on that Basketball court and in those stands is INTOLERABLE (thanks, phynerk). Just when you think everything might be ok, the ignorance of the world raises it's ugly head, and takes a big bite out of progress.
These four upstanding athletes (yeah right) might even be suspended for the season. HA! I stay let them find another job. I'm sure they are such amazing men, that they can find great careers that will benefit them the same luxuries that they are accustomed too in the NBA (National Bullies Association). I'm sure that in my occupation if I physically or even verbally lashed out at the spectators I would just be "suspended" for the season... RIGHT!!!
Hey, what do I know? I was the one who caused the great Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby debacle of 1977. That dudes grandmother was really talking some trash about the painting scheme on my derby car...so I had to shut her up! This incident eventually led to the removal of the Pine Wood Derby race in troop 51 and the standing 15 ft. safety zone between spectators and participating cub scouts. They can be an unruly lot!
Let's hope we don't have this behavior trickle into Drum & Bugle corp!

Counting Down The Days...
Four weeks seperate me from the joys of college graduation and degree.... um... holder?... and... punch and pie? Whatever, I've been too busy attending class, trying to fly my posterior off, not writing the myriad of papers that I have coming due this week, and spending way too much time with the unruly bunch of characters that I somehow label as "friends." On a sidenote, I'll go ahead and give both After The Sunset and National Treasure very good reviews, and two philanges up. Go see them if you dare spend the money. If not, I'm just secretly waiting for an excuse to see The Incredibles and the Sponge Bob Squarepants movie. Oh, and there's a remake of Flight of the Phoenix and Phantom of the Opera, and let's not even forget about Ocean's Twelve. Suffice to say, the next few monts are going to be hell on my pocketbook. I imagine I'll get the opportunity the next time I'm home to give my patronage to the new motion picture theatre in Texarkana. I do love a good flicker show. I just hope I can find some fitting company for such an undertaking.
I need to figure out exactly what I'm going to do after graduation... any thoughts?

I've done some research
It's been a big secret, but I've found out Jeff C's senior project. All this talk about 'bad weather', boredom, etc. was all a big scam to not let us in on what he's been working on this last semester to get accredited as a 'real' pilot. Well...look at his latest achievement ! The Jeff-O-copter !!!
Then there is the rumor that Tim's went and bought a new guitar. Well, it's about time he got something more than those 'practice' guitars he's been messing with. I have a good source ( the grand POO BAH ) that let me have a snap shot he took of Tim's new axe.. Very tastefull and simple - in keeping with Tim's personality and playing style.
Hope my research has paid off into letting you in on two of "our own" and there endeavors in adulthood.

The End is in Sight
I've had the consumption for about two weeks now and can't seem to get rid of it, but apparently today I appeared to be well enough to sing in ear training. That was false. I sound like a man who can't keep his voice from cracking, and I'm sure my grade will prove it.
I think I'm having a quarter-life crisis. I thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life, but I'm beginning to think that maybe music is better left as a hobby for me instead of what puts the bread on the table. I'm also starting to put less importance on "careers." After all, a job is a job, not a lifestyle or the thing that defines a person. I would hope that when people think of me, my career is not the first thing to come to mind. Maybe deciding what I want to do for a living is not the big important decision I once thought it was. Maybe it's simply picking one field over all the others.
I just found out today that the girls and I could've gone to the Clinton Library opening. On the radio earlier they were reporting Brad Pitt spottings, and it just seems weird to know that so many people we all see on T.V. were right here in Arkansas in the same city. Chelsea Clinton spoke, and now I know why they never let the her speak in public. If I didn't know any better I'd say she's a little slow. Who knows, maybe she is, but the girl's got one massive speech impediment.
Last night was the UCA Jazz Ensembles Concert. I'd say it went quite well, and now I have this strong desire to be in the Dixieland Band, even though I know it won't happen. I must say we crazy kids in jazz II did a fine job, especially the second alto...Anyway, hopefully tomorrow's class will simply consist of passing in music and filling out evaluations. I am now done with sax quartet after our recital today, and I can really feel the semester coming to a close, it's just not happening fast enough.
I should be back in hope by 8 pm Tuesday, and I couldn't be more ready. If anyone needs me, I'll probably be asleep...

Weirdness begats confusion
Thanks to crappy weather, I have had very little to do for the past few days. I have a record attendance in class this week. I attended every single one of mine, and even some that I wasn't even enrolled in. I was simply too bored and lazy to leave the classroom, and thus sat through aviation weather and crew resource management much to the chagrin of my teachers and friends. It was in a word, unneccessary, but at the same time shattered the boredom like a hammer to a frozen steak. It gave us all something to laugh about, and gave me the opportunity to harass some of my old teachers... I might have actually learned something at the same time.
And so, with nothing to do but sit in class, I started a marathon of movie watching and concluded this dreary eve with "A Clockwork Orange." I don't even know what to think, other than why wasn't Stanley Kubrick committed a long, long time ago? I did eat Panda this evening though, and noticed that the owner now recognizes me as a regular. I'm definately moving up in the world. Speaking of moving, Rob moved back to Stillwater after he got a rather cushy job here in town. I'm going to get to dump the remainder of the bills on him, and actually pay off my laptop here in a few months... if the weather cooperates enough for flying.
Oh... and I think I'm catching the galloping consumption from the damp of the River Cimmeron. I'm about to chug some nyquil and head to bed.

I'm Moving to Italy
It seems the galloping consumption still has me in its grasp. I thought Saturday morning that I would be rid of it soon, but it seems to have brought its suitcase and has settled in quite nicely. A five hour drive with no tissue, napkins, or anything that resembled paper forced me to become very creative. I'm still not quite sure where all that stuff went...just kidding. I held it in the whole time and used a whole box of Kleenex when I got back. If I'd gotten lost again I would've stopped and retrieved some tissue, but it seems that Yahoo! Maps is much better than Mapquest, and no stopping was needed this time.
If any of you guys have not seen The Shawshank Redemption, you're missin' out. I watched it twice in a row this weekend. "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'."

Irishwoman in Conway
Due to certain events, it appears that I will be traveling to Oklahoma at 5 tomorrow morning instead of earlier at 3 today. And of course the once four hour and twenty minute or less drive will now be a five hour drive, due to the fact that I will no longer allow myself to speed...too much. Usually the long drive doesn't bother me, since I have about twelve days of music on the ol' iPod, but I like to sing part of the way, usually to Tulsa where the road signs get really confusing, where I promptly put on something nice and relaxing like Yo-Yo Ma or Chris Botti, but with what I like to call the galloping consumption tearing at me throat, singing may very well be out of the question. I have a feeling it's going to be a very boring drive.
The semester is quickly coming to a close. It appears as though I have one week and two days left of regular instruction. Then it's a week to review and a week of tests. And then I have to do it all over again...seven more times. I just found out that if I have an A average on my tests in harmony after our next test, I don't have to take the final. That means I would only have four finals!!! That would give me lots of time to practice for ear training and piano. Does anyone smell something burning?
I realize that I am young and in the whole scheme of things have not seen too many years, but it seems as though the weather in Arkansas is a lot different than what it used to be. From what I remember, there used to be four distinct seasons, but as the years go by they seem to be gradually morphing into one, which is really quite a bore. Contrary to what many might think, I do like it when it's cold out (I just don't like it being cold inside because that's the wrong place for the cold), but a jump from 70 to 40 just can't be good. Oh well, maybe it will be 80 the whole week before Christmas and then snow for once on Christmas day. As long as there's no ice...

Back In Mac
So after a rather enthralling video game experience last night, I attempted to shut down my computer. The infernal thing froze on me and there was nothing I could do but "pull the plug." Having done so many times before, on many machines (mine included), I thought nothing of it and went to bed. I awoke this morning only to find my windoze computer booting to a blue screen and "unmountable_volume" written oh-so-blatantly at the top. Five restart attempts including three in safe mode failed to satisfy the beast... it is now formatting for a windows reload. Let that be a lesson to Ye.
And so Yasser Arafat dies as well? Coincidence? Probably. At least I thought so until the Mossad was knocking on my door asking questions about my computer. They invited themselves in, looked at it, poked it with a stick, and looked strangely befuddled. Then, they critiqued the decor, helped themselves to anything and everything in the refridgerator and left without so much as a "thank you." No doubt about it, it's going to be very interesting to see what happens politically in the middle east in the next few months.
I have a staff meeting today... that's just boring.

Don't Stand So Close To Me (lest you get sick)
How can Jeff possibly go back to Windows after freeing his mind and getting a Mac? That's exactly what I asked myself. I suppose gaming is a better reason than any, however, I'm sure some more Irish literature will get the Cap'n away from that awful thing.
In Honors Core I here at the good ol' University of Central Arkansas, we have been emersed in "the search for self," and we have just arrived at our virtual selves. Now we are "seeking solace in cyberspace (with 900 million people watching)." Today's lecture was given by my Honors prof and was quite interesting. It was mostly about blogs, and of course our elite group came to mind as I listened. Apparently we are "hiding in plain sight," looking for freedom, democracy, liberation, self-expression, and empowerment, among others. We are "citizen-journalists." Apparently there are 1.3 million bloggers in America, and I would like to think we're the best.
Tonight the UCA Sax Choir dazzled the crowd at the woodwind ensembles recital. We performed Mozart's "Eine Kline Nachtmusik," "Portals," and The Six Brown Brothers' "At the Chicken Chasers Ball." As I have continually been losing my good health lately, I held in some much needed coughs during the whole bit and finally let loose as soon as I was out of the recital hall doors. I think I have a combination of strep throat and food poisioning, which does not bode well for my wind ensemble audition tomorrow, although I'm not too sure it will matter since I already know I'll be in symphonic band anyway.
It is trying to start storming here, and I hope it's full-blown by the time I go to bed. I'm looking forward to some very good sleep tonight.
Good evenin', me laddies!

Forgive me, Steve Jobs...
I'm blogging from *gasp* a windows xp computer. I know what you are all thinking, "how can Jeff possibly go back to Windows after freeing his mind and getting a Mac?" Well, there's only one reason... And one reason at all: games.
I was about to go out of my mind, and I needed a good dose of GTA III: Vice City. I dug my old, presumably fried 1.4ghz Athlon out of my closet and set about trying to ascertain the source of its malcontent. I switched out RAM, video cards, hard drives, power supplies, and finally created a combination that my computer seems to be happy with. After reinstalling windows twice, I managed to create an acceptable gaming machine out of what was once a box of odds and ends. In an effort to maximize gaming performance, I refuse to do anything else with this computer. There will be no Mp3's, no extraneous programs, and really no websurfing after today. I have TWO macs for that very purpose, and they seem to do everything besides gaming just as well as this old thing... And they have a certain panache that Microsoft could never hope to attain.
So I've been off the board for a while as I have been quite busy. Busy, but not making money as the weather is thwarting me yet again. On the plus side, I did get to fly all the way from Stillwater, OK to Galveston, TX on Sunday. 429 miles one way in a Cessna 172 will really make you appreciate faster airplanes, but the view was incredible. I've got some pictures I'll have to post... but I guess I'll have to send them to Josh first, as I have no copy of MS Office, and Manteca refuses to allow ftp following a vicious attack on the Convogi-server.
In the political world, I still have my yard signs up in celebration... or is it laziness? Either way, I'm still showing my support for W, and you should too! That's really it... uh... still not going to class, and Seashell has me hooked on Irish literature.
And that's the news from KSWO,
Jeff C.

I don't know if I can take it...
I haven't posted... I posted a picture of a freakin' helicopter. P's comment made me think about what I always post about and I decided that I wouldn't bash the other side anymore. Unfortunately, I don't think I can take it anymore...
I posted earlier this week about democrates being sore losers. MAN was I right on target. Not just democrates, but liberals. Liberals who believe this country is their playground to do WHATEVER THEY WANT! Many want to leave the country...great take off! This idiot kills himself, supposedly because of the election results (I know, not too sensistive. So...he took the greates gift of all...life and wasted it). These people want to protest the will of the majority. LASTLY, these people are the biggest losers on the planet... (and yes, it is a SORRY world)
I know, several people will not be happy with my insensitive opinion. You know what? I have the same right as any of the people who put their stupid picture and an apology to the world on the internet. If you don't like what is expressed here, don't type the address in your browser and don't come back. Otherwise, grin, bear it and buy a shirt from our damn store. We need the dough!
--On a lighter side, I had a Dairy Queen Mocha Moo-Latte. It was excellent. I think it could probably be the most amazing form of convogination that can be found in this little hamlet.

Happy Belated Birthday!
Besides being the last day of marching band for the season, yesterday had another reason for being one of the most important days in history. Anyone care to guess? It was the birthday of Adolphe Sax. In honor of this momentous occasion, the saxophone section masticated birthday cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Sax, and because I won the rock-paper-scissors tournament, I received the first piece which was oh so tasty indeed. Nothing hits the spot quite like a huge chocolate chip cookie with green and blue frosting.
This is the first weekend in a while that I've had to go without eating at IHOP. It's quite sad really. Last night's supper consisted of two different kinds of Special K and leftover chips and cheese dip from Lolita's. Now I'm trying to decided what to have for breakfast since the cafeteria has yet to open and the milk, which does not belong to me, is almost gone. I'm looking forward to some Panda this coming weekend.
A mother's love is a blessing

Keep her while she's living,
You'll miss her when she's gone.

Don't forget your dear old mother
Far across the sea.
Write a letter now and then
And send her all you can
And don't forget where're you roam
That you're an Irishman.
Work awaits.

World Travelin'
Propped on up to Kansas City, MO with a group of friends for the express purpose of eating Jack Stack's BBQ.
Eleven people, three airplanes, and one Ford Taraus courtesy car... nothing says togetherness quite like a collective wish that the cops wouldn't see us... of course, we had to make the joke, "Let me guess, stuffed french toast down at IHOP?" We have yet to top our old record of 18 people in a Dodge Astro van...
Why did Missouri want a city named after that bland state to the west?

A day in the life
So being the great Dad, Father, and Pal to the oldest of my quiver, I 'volunteered' to help him move today. Moving has to be right up at the top of the things I enjoy most in life. The only thing that made the day even more enjoyable was doing some of the plumbing repairs around new place. They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I did learn a few things today. First, I learned that the day of the craftsman is over. I had to replace a couple old light fixtures and I was appalled at the crummy way the old ones were "wired". It was the kind of wiring that you expect from a 6th grader's science fair experiment. Second I learned Matt has some wonderfully great friends that helped him into the house in no time at all. Third, I learned I'm a lucky guy to have my family. We all worked together today in perfect harmony. So....all this might not be the witty prose you were expecting, but it's all I could think of as Matt got his www.interstate connection made.
Hope the SuperBand did good today. Go SUPERBAND!!!!

I just can't help it...
I know P is right. We would have been upset had Kerry won. But I would have moved on. I unfortunately have to work for a living despite who runs the country; I still have to put food on the table. I think it is funny though that there are Americans and especially liberal ones who give a rat's furry behind what the rest of the world thinks. I mean come on; these people pierce their bodies, get tattoos, dye their hair, wear outlandish clothing and are THEMSELVES. (Not that there aren't Republicans who don't do that) And they worry what the world thinks. WHO CARES what the world thinks. The majority of the things that the world loves are American. They want to be us so bad they can't stand it. (These items are clearly outlined in P's Blog)
Naturally, like most Americans, the going gets tough and the weak and whiney decide to get going. Great, don't come back! Once you get there, STAY!

p.s. P you were right, we can all agree on that list. Funny..the at kid..hahaha!!

Me Mam is Coming!
I am going to be in Conway for the weekend, an event that previously occured very many times. I too have many things to do, however, the closest thing I've got to mowing a lawn is watering my plants. With my honors paper done (this means that I successfully filled six pages that should have been five with my useless ramblings about evidence so that my peer reviewer could say I have a horrible paper so that next week I can submit an extraordinary one and be graded on my so-called progress as an honors scholar), I must now practice immensly for three, if not more, upcoming performances. My solo in "Caravan" will of course bring in a huge crowd and give me a very important reason to practice "Sweet Georgia Brown" until I'm blue in the face. I must also practice that beast of beasts, the piano, but of course not before I belt out some skips in the dominant triad. I'd say it's about time for Thanksgiving break and some blueberry cheesecake, not to mention a full-sized bed, real baths, and good convogination.
I realize it has been quite a few days since my last post, and I have yet to offer my congratulations to our President. I'm sure there was much rejoicing Wednesday as Herman Muns...er, Kerry conceded. I know I breathed a sigh of relief. Actually it was more like a whoop of elation, but no one was around to hear it, and thus many would argue that it did not really occur because there was not sufficient evidence. I must have W.K. Clifford on the brain...
Top o' the evening to ya, laddies.

A weekend this way cometh...
After two weeks of crappy weather, we have been treated to some of the bluest skies that this fair state may have ever seen. Indeed, the state of the state is certainly worth stating. I'm also going to be in Stillwater for the weekend, an event that previously occurred over four weeks ago. I've got many-a-thing to do as well, like:
Mowing the Lawn
Something tells me that Manteca runs right out after this and attempts to purchase his own lawnmower. Phynerk could probably build one for the betterment of Crestwood Acres...
off to bed,

Fox News Headline - "Teens Occupy High School..."
This is very interesting. This group of students at Boulder high school are "camping out" in the school library until the GOP answers some of their questions. Hmmm... And it seems their school approves of such action. They may not be holding anyone hostage, but they are, in my opinion unruly and out of order. Is this a form of terrorism? We are not leaving until we get our way? Not sure how you would call this one.
WE ALL KNOW that high school children know what's best. I think it is distressing that neither their parents nor their teachers can answer the questions they have. Another stunt, this time perpetrated by children. And yes, if you are in high school and reading this, you are still a child. Relish it, be a child as long as you can. When it is gone, it is gone.
The public school that I teach at would send everyone to alternative school if they pulled a stunt like this. Although the kids here are WAY to indolent to pull a stunt like this...

FOUR MORE YEARS!!!
I'm going to leave my yard signs up a few more days in celebration!
I hope it's sunny tomorrow...

The end is finally here...
I know that title sounds rough. I typed it knowing that I finally don't have to see that ugly face of John Kerry anymore. I don't have to hear Michael Moore and his stupid rhetoric. I don't have to worry about liberals screwing up a wonderful country. I don't have to worry about gay marriage. I don't have to worry about terrorists walking all over us. I don't have to worry...as much...
I am glad George W. Bush was re-elected. I am glad that he too is tired of being walked all over. Congratulations President Bush!
Oh yeah, Jon Stewart is an ignorant moron...yes sometimes funny, but mostly a sore loser... and a whiner! He commented tonight that he missed voter fraud... Then John Kerry is a sore loser...he never offered any compliments to the President. Oh well...They still got a good taste of democracy... manteca
Please remind me !
It's either my age or the great stress at work ( or much of both ) that I have trouble remembering some things. I'm just hoping I won't forget to vote tomorrow. Please, someone out there remind me .
Thanks,

"Dozen on the sqawk and a freakin' change, Six Three Alpha. Thanks for the help, Center, so long..."
There's nothing like a prolonged period without any earnings to get the spirit lower than knee-high to a dogs ear. (whatever that means) All I know is, I spent a week in Durant, OK, followed by half a week off, followed by two weeks of really crappy weather... in case you are wondering, this all adds up to Jeff not having the bounty of wealth that was assured him by employers upon accepting his current position with the university. Well, they never actually assured me of that... come to think of it, they never really assured me of anything... I'm not really even sure that I really work there, but they seem to pay me for work duties that I faithfully perform.
I dodged thunderstorms the entire way back from Conway to Tulsa yesterday, and after flying over two hundred miles, I simply could not go a measly fifty-four more. I shot the ILS into Tulsa Riverside Airport and tied the airplane down just before it started a downpour... really more of a deluge. Ever since, it's been "raining like a child with no father." I'm skipping more classes than I'm attending, and it seems like the end of high school all over again. Four years ago I was coasting through school with an attitude befitting a lottery winner, and now I find myself in the same mindset. Hopefully similar results result. I suppose I can't look forward to another period of slacking off until I'm about ready to retire... so let's say for the sake of argument forty years? Surely I deserve a short breather before forty years of hard work commence, so I'm taking that as we speak. I forsee a lot of last minute panic and frustration that hopefully leads to a happy graduation on my part. I'll get to smile for the pictures, flip a lot of administration the proverbial ornathological specimen and tell them not to call asking for money in the near or even not so near future.
As for the state of the union... I've done my part, and will certainly be watching to see the fate of the nation. I have to agree with Matthew's sentiments concerning a disastrous Kerry victory. It will only mean four years of getting nothing accomplished. I do wonder what would become of our "war on terrorism" however. That's not something you can leave half-finished. I have to have faith that The Big Guy knows who would be best for our nation at this point in time, and believe that's who will emerge victorious. We all refer to it as "winning" the Presidential race. I'm not so sure it's as much a matter of winning as it is being entrusted with a duty. It seems like a lot of responsibility to me... just to get your name and picture in the history books so children two hundred years from now can complain about having to learn about some other white, aglo-saxon protestant male. The liberals will just teach revisionist history anyway...
Off to bed, and a good read.
Jeff C.
I figure somebody should post...
I noticed that the posting has slowed down a bit. I guess it is the looming election, or maybe just honors papers. I also noticed that Seashell referred to me in her last post "... self-centered, obese, unintelligent people who don't know what they want as long as they don't have to work for it." I cried a little, but I got over it.
Matthew made a good observation today. If Kerry wins, it won't be the end of the world. It will be a fruitless 4 years. The Senate and the House will pretty much counteract anything that needs to take place, and our country will languish in a quagmire of apathy. NO real leader, no "moving forward." Oh well... I, like Matthew, will most likely question, be it only for a second, my source of news and information concerning our country and the Bush administration.
Now all of that is mere twaddle. I feel confident in the intelligence of the American voter and secure in the idea that the right decision will be made at the polling centers in this wonderful country. (How do you like that false sense of security?)
I watched some of Bill Maher on HBO. Richard Belzer and Gen. Weasely Clark bashed George W. while surprisingly Kevin Costner took the whiney panty waste, but yet somewhat conservative slant...then he pulled out his bow and arrow and saved Maid Marion...it was awesome. I love "Dances with Robin Hood the Postman in Waterworld!"
Despite what happens tomorrow, this self-centered, obese, unintelligent person (who doesn't know what he wants as long as he doesn't have to work for it) will continue to support George W. Bush. The man doesn't have to be president just to get his message across…although it does help!
George W. Bush For President!manteca p.s. Seashell, I know you weren't talking about me...just a little jab at the fat guy...who is me!
