Well, I have been in my new house for about 2 and a half weeks now. I only moved a couple streets over, but it has made a huge difference in my life. An average of 60 trains come through Hope a night. That is about one every 8 to 10 minutes. Let's pretend that it is every 15 minutes. That is 4 an hour. It might not seem like a lot, but to your subconcious trying to enjoy REM sleep, it is everything. I feel a little guilty with knowing that I essentially tortured my subconcious for a year and a half. Most can atest to the fact that I was sick, down, and tired more then I should have been. I think that I got really sick about 3 times over the course of living near the train.
I can still hear the train occasionally at my new place, but it is a much kinder train. I actually can enjoy the train. In fact I have decided to become train savvy. I am not sure i know what this means, but I actually feel a kinship with that train. It is like moving out of the house and feeling closer to one's parents.
It is just nice to be able to sleep.
