Due to certain events, it appears that I will be traveling to Oklahoma at 5 tomorrow morning instead of earlier at 3 today. And of course the once four hour and twenty minute or less drive will now be a five hour drive, due to the fact that I will no longer allow myself to speed...too much. Usually the long drive doesn't bother me, since I have about twelve days of music on the ol' iPod, but I like to sing part of the way, usually to Tulsa where the road signs get really confusing, where I promptly put on something nice and relaxing like Yo-Yo Ma or Chris Botti, but with what I like to call the galloping consumption tearing at me throat, singing may very well be out of the question. I have a feeling it's going to be a very boring drive.
The semester is quickly coming to a close. It appears as though I have one week and two days left of regular instruction. Then it's a week to review and a week of tests. And then I have to do it all over again...seven more times. I just found out that if I have an A average on my tests in harmony after our next test, I don't have to take the final. That means I would only have four finals!!! That would give me lots of time to practice for ear training and piano. Does anyone smell something burning?
I realize that I am young and in the whole scheme of things have not seen too many years, but it seems as though the weather in Arkansas is a lot different than what it used to be. From what I remember, there used to be four distinct seasons, but as the years go by they seem to be gradually morphing into one, which is really quite a bore. Contrary to what many might think, I do like it when it's cold out (I just don't like it being cold inside because that's the wrong place for the cold), but a jump from 70 to 40 just can't be good. Oh well, maybe it will be 80 the whole week before Christmas and then snow for once on Christmas day. As long as there's no ice...
