You know, I am game for anything. I also hate to embarass people. Well, except Matt... Anyway, this is just stupid. It's like teaching the holocaust, but leaving the Jewish faith out of it.
Just teach the religion (be it Judaism, Christianity, Buddism...etc.) with the history. It is all relevant! I think they are worried that Christianity and it's role throughout history will make people realize something...something CORRECT!
