I'm blogging from *gasp* a windows xp computer. I know what you are all thinking, "how can Jeff possibly go back to Windows after freeing his mind and getting a Mac?" Well, there's only one reason... And one reason at all: games.
I was about to go out of my mind, and I needed a good dose of GTA III: Vice City. I dug my old, presumably fried 1.4ghz Athlon out of my closet and set about trying to ascertain the source of its malcontent. I switched out RAM, video cards, hard drives, power supplies, and finally created a combination that my computer seems to be happy with. After reinstalling windows twice, I managed to create an acceptable gaming machine out of what was once a box of odds and ends. In an effort to maximize gaming performance, I refuse to do anything else with this computer. There will be no Mp3's, no extraneous programs, and really no websurfing after today. I have TWO macs for that very purpose, and they seem to do everything besides gaming just as well as this old thing... And they have a certain panache that Microsoft could never hope to attain.
So I've been off the board for a while as I have been quite busy. Busy, but not making money as the weather is thwarting me yet again. On the plus side, I did get to fly all the way from Stillwater, OK to Galveston, TX on Sunday. 429 miles one way in a Cessna 172 will really make you appreciate faster airplanes, but the view was incredible. I've got some pictures I'll have to post... but I guess I'll have to send them to Josh first, as I have no copy of MS Office, and Manteca refuses to allow ftp following a vicious attack on the Convogi-server.
In the political world, I still have my yard signs up in celebration... or is it laziness? Either way, I'm still showing my support for W, and you should too! That's really it... uh... still not going to class, and Seashell has me hooked on Irish literature.
And that's the news from KSWO,
Jeff C.
