It’s happening again. This is that one time in each year that all the cosmic forces in the universe align in such a way that the most heat possible ( just short of evaporating all known life ) is sent to one small ( insignificant ) spot on planet Earth; Hope, Arkansas. Yep it’s time once again for the 32nd annual running of the Hope Watermelon Festival. Yep, break out your best pair of bib overalls and join the melting crowd down at Fair Park this weekend. And, Oh golly, we are in for a treat ( again ) this year to have Ace Cannon with us ( again ). I’m certain he didn’t even have to put our address in his GPS to get here since he’s here practically every year. Wow, I can’t wait. I’m sure he will have a whole new set of songs to share with us. Some we haven’t heard since last festival. I only hope the heat won’t effect ole’ Ace none. I’d hate to hear he wheezed through the whole set. Yep, I’m sittin’ here already lookin’ forward to some good ‘gator on a stick’. Mmmmm it just don’t get no better. So, ya’ll get the car all packed up with your young ‘uns and get on down to the Festival, There’s great fun for all and the heat is free. I’ll see you there for a slice of the gooooood life, friend.
