I am so sorry that I haven't posted in a long time. I know I have put up a few silly pictures and a movie or two, but I haven't REALLY posted in about two months. Why? Well, Matthew left, I went to TechEd, hired Marilyn Christie to replace Matthew, work called, life called... then school started. Nothing can ruin a good buzz like returning teachers. In this school district, it is even worse. The high school is staring down the barrel of year five school improvement. The teachers and administrators there act like nothing is wrong and that they are a godsend to the educational process in Hope, Arkansas. They are not all bad, trust me, some are downright amazing! Unfortunately most are not cutting the mustard. Then again, that's just my opinion... what do I know, I've only been doing this fifteen years.
I loved Phynerk's last post on the Watermelon Festival. Luckily I didn't even have to get within five miles of the place. I did however hear a great comment on the festival from an Emergency Room doctor from out of town. "I guess if you've seen one carnival, you've seen them all." Isn't that the truth. I guess that makes Ace Cannon the king of carnival musicians.
So classes start here on Monday. I am hoping that it will be an uneventful year. I need the break. I realized that my life has become a merry-go-round of getting by until the same thing rolls around again. I guess if I kept my promise and rehearsed music with Phynerk like I said I would, maybe my life wouldn't seem so redundant.
