Way to go, Jim Gunter !!!!"

Here's some GOOD news for ya'll !!

Three judges have been selected as the recipients of the third annual Common Good Gatekeeper Awards. The Awards highlight the important role of judges in drawing legal boundaries of who can sue for what. They recognize judges whose decisions restore public confidence that reasonable actions will be supported by the courts. This years awards highlight judges who made notable decisions with regard to lawsuits challenging educators.
The judges being recognized are:
Judge Richard J. Sankovitz, Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Milwaukee, WI
Judge Orlando F. Hudson, Jr., North Carolina Superior Court, District 14, Durham, NC
Associate Justice Jim Gunter, Supreme Court of Arkansas, Little Rock, AR

Ahhh...Phooey!

So now we HAVE to make it good. We were on channel 11. In Arkansas, thats like winning a Nobel prize. I undertstand that we are also splitting up the 10th grade classes by religous denomination. There is some very compelling data on the learning behaviors between Baptist and Methodist kids. I have a theory on further breaking it down between those that like mayonaise and those that like mustard. Salt and pepper, left hand versus right hand, etc. Soon we will probably...dare I say, seperate them by race! Although we have NEVER done that before, it could happen. AS Winston Churchill said, "Study history, study history!"

Who wants in on the action?

Ok guys, I know there are a few mac users here so I know you'll be interested just on principle. And those who aren't mac users are probably fans of Money so this should also get your attention. So what am I talking about? A contest has been setup for being the first person or group who can provide instructions to successfully configure an Intel based Mac to dual boot Mac OS X and Windows XP. The current total is up to $5747 for the winner. Not a bad chunk of change. And it would be a pretty cool setup to have. Just think about it. Come on Jeff, you know you want it. hah

Operator, won't you put me on through...

...Gotta send my love down to Baton Rouge! Well, I had to send myself at least. Major dittos to an FBO that offers complimentary wireless internet access to its patrons. This rarely experienced "down time" finally gave me the opportunity to reinstitute myself into the great act of Convogination. Well... there's really not too much going on, except:

I have a new hero: Logan Darrow Clements. I am really shocked that I haven't heard about this until now, but Mr. Clements is most definately fighting the good fight to return the right of property to all Americans who have been abandoned by the Supreme Court. I'm sure most of us are familiar with the recent Supreme Court ruling in Kelo vs. City of New London which extended the power of emminent domain to allow the government to take private property from one citizen and give it to another if it will result in more tax revenue or serve a greater economic good. Mr. Clements seized the proverbial bull by the horns and filed the necessary paperwork to begin the process of taking Justice David Souter's land in the interest of building a hotel. The "Lost Liberty Hotel" will also feature the "Just Deserts Cafe." Priceless. City officials will vote on the proposal sometime in March to determine whether or not Justice Souter will have to reap what he and his fellow justice's have sown.

If the current ruling is not reversed, I reccomend that the Convoginator's find some hapless individual whose land we can seize and open up our own Convoginator's Bingo Parlor and Express Lube. Just think of the greater economic impact!

On a different note, has anyone else found it fascinating that the school seems to be reverting more and more to an elementary education? In grades 1-3 we were not allowed on the same half of the playground as the girls. Furthermore, have they considered the constitutional implications of segregating classes based on sex? Seperate but Equal was struck down a long time ago... this might be interesting.

Back to waiting on passengers...

Jeff C.

This is Great!!

Ok guys this is a good one. Probably the best online blond jokes I've ever seen. Check it out here

School Board Bloggin' Live

I am here at the school board meeting. I am witnessing the most amazing example of weakness, ignorance and sheer inhability to make decisions that will not be in the best interest of the students, or the fabric of our society.

The Math department has made a proposal that, as Mr. Kopecky states, will be a "carrot" to entice students to attend class. The idea is very wonderful. It seems like a win, win situation. The students now have 8 days that they can miss. The Math Dept. proposes that if a student misses 2 or less, they are exempt from the "final exam." The teachers may (and will) still give a comprehensive test, but the exemption of the Final will be a new "carrot" to entice student attendance. This barely passed 4 to 3. With the stipulation that they have only one semester to see if it works.

Also tonight, advanced classes were nixed. Students will be encouraged (through the High Schools That Work programs) to take Pre-AP and AP classes. So, no more advanced classes. You gotta take AP baby! Interesting... This pased 6 to 1.

AND NOW!!! Gender based classes for the 9th grade. Thats right, all girl classes and all boy classes. Next we will adopt some good old muslim doctrine of not even teaching the female students. This passed unanimously.

Last, but not least! Closed campus. The high school administration had a tiered plan that included 9th & 10th grade first and then the entire campus. The school board President suggested we just bite the bullet and close the whole thing with one swift move.
They decided they need to table the proposal so that we may get some public input. Thats funny, this IS a public meeing. OH, I know, we need to have pizza..pizza always gets the parents here. The board is CHICKEN...they decide to table the proposal for 30 days....GEEZ! What a bunch of wimps!!!!

The most intersting thing about these discussions is the fact that they seem to have no kowledge of the actual workings of the modern day high school classroom in this town. They, to my knowledge, have NEVER visited the school during the day and actually witnessed what teachers see every day.

p.s. - please pardon all grammatical errors, spelling errors, etc...I'm stupid

This man has a hidden agenda !

You know, I never did trust politicians. It seems they are always "up to something". Well, it's clear to me what this guy is up to. That's right with the brilliant tirade of words yesterday concerning his desire for New Orleans to become a 'chocolate' city Mr. Nagin wants nothing less than to become a ......CONVOGINATOR. No matter how much he likes chocolate, I plead with our management to not let this happen. I believe he could not have any real lasting contributions with his posts. Although, it's clear that anything he would post would be very funny. I mean it's not every day that you are able to hear someone with his clout make a complete and absolute total fool of himself in front of the whole world. I wish I had the skills that some of our group have in the area of graphics. I would somehow picture this guy as a big giant butt with an anus right where his mouth is. What a jerk,.... you watch he'll be president one day. Only in America.

Does anyone else smell that??

Yeah, he reminds you of me...what is he fat... poor guy. Going through life fat, drunk and stupid is a sad thing...hahaha!

Seriously, that outfit is probably not appropriate for an interview...lose the shirt, and when you ask yourself the next question, answer it with "pants are not needed here!"

Some of my favorite math teachers were pantsless!

OH yeah... Convoginator's New Year Party Pic (I have no idea where you people were!)

(I had my feelings hurt, so I turned away from the camera)

Let's (not) do it again, again.

I thought I would share a few pictures I took at the recent "get-togethers" we Convoginators "had" over the hoildays:

Here's a great shot of our Thanksgiving Convogifest: The food was great!

Then who could forget the swell Convogoi-mas party we had at the Manteca's place:

Then there was the News Years Convogi-New we were all in vited to:

Let's do it again next year...waddaya say?

PS...Happy Birthday, Captain!!

All the world is a stage...

At least to the actors and entertainers! Harry Belafonte has decided that Venesuelan DICTATOR Hugo Chavez is a great man. He, Danny Glover and other great intellectuals visited the dictator this weekend and realized that his socialist revolution was a great thing. I find it funny that Jane Fonda did not attend. She has a divining rod that actually detects great people. Look how well it worked during the Vietnam war.

Hey Harry, why don't you sing me a rendition of Day-O, get Danny Glover back on the set of Lethal Weapon 24 and leave the real work to the people who know what they are doing.
