It would take me forever to explain why liberals (in general) have the wrong idea. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all liberals are out of it. I have many liberal friends, but I don't agree with them about certain things.
Are you a college student? If so, I can see how you might be a bit confused. This is the point that most people find their liberalism. For me, it was the point that I became more secure in my conservativism. I am actually somewhat middle-of-the-road, however, after a year at a liberal university (as most of them are), I realize that I could never go to the dark side.
Many people who say they are conservatives are a bit extreme. But watch out! There are bad conservatives, too. Just like, for example, many people say they are Christians, but they really don't act like it, and they give Christians a bad name. Well, perhaps these people aren't Christians at all. You can't just look at the bad that you see. This might be turned around on us as well. "You can't just look at the bad you see in liberals." Well, that's usually all there is. All you need is the University of Central Arkansas Honors College to see that.
Liberals are considered caring. Homosexuals should be allowed to marry because we should care about everyone. That's what they say, but it's not the real reason. Really, they just want this for themselves. Same thing with abortion. They're not thinking of the general public. They want to be able to kill their own babies. I once attended a lecture from a guy speaking for gay marriage. This was after I attended one from a guy against it. He had facts and figures, while the guy who was for it basically just wanted to marry his boyfriend. Talk about selfish!
Now, I don't know what the deal is with welfare, but that might be the thing that bothers me the most about liberals. I won't go into it much, but we all know that those on welfare don't give a fiddler's fart whether they find jobs or not. You say, well what about that poor single mother with five kids? People shouldn't have more children than they can afford. Most poor people are in such a state because they choose to be. (Don't say I'm heartless. I know this isn't always the case.)
As for the kid that died because of the marshmallow, you can't sue somebody for something like that! What if he was eating it for lunch, would you sue then? Well, I suppose selfish liberals would.
Another thing... Liberals worry about the most insignificant things. What about murder, theft, arson, rape... These are big problems that should probably be taken care of before stuff like how many rats we kill in a given year.
There's tons more, but thinking about such things has got my mind racing. It's back to Modern Marvels and Mail Call for me. Thank God and the USA for the History Channel! God bless America!
