History of Christmas

Found a neat article at Encarta

I always thought that the Letter "X" in "Xmas" was a sign of disrespect but it semas that the letter "X" in Greek is chi, an abbreviation of Khristos (Christ), and also represents the cross on which Jesus was crucified.

Short littel FYI and some history.

We need to "reach out" to Iran

Maybe when we're through we can sit around the fire and sing 'Kum-by-ya' with our new "friends", too.

Hey Burl Ives...you left your lights on!

You know, as the holiday season jets into full speed, I find myself noticing the glowing faces of the children and the excitement in their eyes as that special day nears. You know the special day, the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...the day all kids get more material possessions than the kid next door. I find it exciting that the greedy little pot-lickers in our school district will rack up on hundreds of dollars of video games, mp3 players, computers and cell phones. Fortunately, their parents will be happy and content with their short term happiness and long term ignorance. The 26.4% interest is a small price to pay so little Johnny can get his game on. I was very impressed with one co-worker today. She was able to finish her Christmas shopping for her 26 year old child who lives at home. She felt that the $1000 Dell laptop would motivate him to finish his school or get a job in the "computer industry." The new xBox 360 was just a perk to let him know how much she loved him.

Interesting, birds push their young out of the nest to show them how to live on their own...is that love?

Happy Purchasing! See ya after the Christmas shopping season!

The wisdom of the United Nations rises again !

Meet the world's top destroyer of the environment. It is not the car, or the plane,or even George Bush: it is the cow! ! !
A United Nations report has identified the world's rapidly growing herds of cattle as the greatest threat to the climate, forests and wildlife. And they are blamed for a host of other environmental crimes, from acid rain to the introduction of alien species, from producing deserts to creating dead zones in the oceans, from poisoning rivers and drinking water to destroying coral reefs.

BUT ....I have the answer. An answer to what could be the demise of huminity....Cow diapers !! Invest with me in this project while there's still time. Send me all of your personal information; i.e. SSN, bank routing numbers, blood type, favorite pet's name and I will promise to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams !! Here is a picture of the prototype

An Age Old Question is Answered...

I remember way back in high school (because I'm so old now) Mr. Kopecky telling me that if you could divide by zero then you would know the meaning of life. Well, Chuck Norris is no longer the only person who can divide by zero. The BBC reports that school children in Caversham, England are becoming the first students in the world to make use of a new mathematical theory and a new number: nullity. Nullity is said to exist outside the normal number line, representing everything from negative infinity through zero to positive infinity. Computers have yet to make the leap, at least both of my Dell computers refuse to contemplate the concept, and my G4 tower actually tried to initiate a math lesson to educate me as to why I was asking it the impossible.

Convoginators.com!

And so, after all this time, we know that the meaning of life is "nullity"... hooray...

Just thought you'd like to know.

Sad News

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was considereda positive roll model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.
The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
